———[ Story ]———

A strange snow had fallen upon Gensokyo, one that was warm to the touch and that glowed like fireflies. It came down in a flurry of flakes, melting the snow already there and quickly burying the world under it.

Those that touched it absorbed it into their bodies and felt rejuvenated. The aged became spry, crops flourished, and the ill became healthy. This inspired rumors that the falling snow was a gift from the heavens. And so, rumors began to spread.

“If you get enough of it, you might become immortal!”

“I’ve heard that it can turn into treasures and gemstones.”

“It’s a panacea for everything!”

Such were the rumors.

Reimu and Marisa each decided to investigate the snow, discovering that each flake was imbued with a truly obscene amount of magical energy, but were no closer to discovering the source until night fell some hours later—

—and among the black canvas of the Milky Way, a new star bloomed into existence with a phantasmal light show over Gensokyo, blanketing it in an aurora of summertime heat.
